By Their Fruits You Will Know Them: The Brothers Karamazov In Light of the Parable of the Seed This paper explores the Brothers Karamazov in light of the parable from St. John's Gospel in which Jesus says, "Unless a grain of wheat fall to the ground and die, it remaineth alone; but if it die, it beareth much fruit." Focusing on the titular characters as well as their spiritual counterparts, we will conclude that Dostoevsky intends to show that lives of active love as lived by Alyosha Karamazov and Father Zosima are the most blessed and spiritually fruitful lives. |

In this paper I discuss the idea of the power of choice by interpreting the chariot analogy in Plato’s dialogue Phaedrus. At the end of the paper, I take a brief look at the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling which began for me a whole discussion of the power of choice.

Portrait of an Artist as a Young Athlete The body is often neglected or cast aside in favor of supposedly "higher" pursuits. But to do so is a mistake. Through an investigation and critique of several texts, the goal of the paper is to demonstrate the importance of bodily development and physical excellence both in contrast with, and in conjunction with, its parallels in the intellect. |

In Aristotle’s Metaphysics book XII the idea of an unmoved mover is examined. Throughout this examination Aristotle gives us an image of a being that is prior to and superior to all things, and which then must be responsible for the beginning of all things. Relationships between eternity, time and motion are established that can be used to create a link between man and this unmoved mover. Based upon these relationships I will be interpreting what I believe to reasonably follow and will then propose my own assumptions as to how the relationships ultimately establish a connection between the prime mover and man through thought |
